I here ya but at this point I'll take what I can get. My ponds have been ice free for at least three weeks here in northern Indiana.  :'(

You know if it got cold enough to form some good thick ice we could be ice fishing in our shirt sleeves into March once temps moderated. It's happened before. Stay positive!

Boo-ya. Bring it on. I don't think Barleydog and the boys in Alaska will mind trading temps for a while ;D Right Barley? ;D ;)  Damn it's cold up there

Another thing to consider that could be positive for ice development is if we get the big snow called for by Saturday before the ice freezes. This would keep daytime highs lower by reflecting the suns rays! Bare ground actually helps temps warm up when the sun comes out. Keep your fingers crossed!

Toes too. Plus, I'm sick of looking at the dead grass in my yard....And even more sick by the fact that it was starting to green up! ::)

I'm not holding my breath.  They have been saying it's going to cool down for weeks.  I hope they are right.

They have? I was only aware that a cool down was to begin in early February. Looks like they are only a week off. Lows around 10 for the weekend sound promising to me for my pond! If it gets colder after that that's even better.

Pikeguy, I've got so many things crossed I look like a pretzel!  ;D

I've been eye-balling it daily myself.
We get the ice back and I'm taking at least off of work to do nothing but fish the hard stuff....day and night.
I'll go native in my Fish Trap if that's what it takes.
