Eagle River area

has anyone have reports on ice conditions around Eagle River, I will be up next weekend

I just got back from Vilas Co., Land O Lakes area.  Spotty is the word I've been seeing and hearing. I'd pop a hole that had 8" of ice, drilled another one 10 yards from it, 4.5". Nobody is crossing large bodies of water on sleds or atvs. Bays and shallow areas seem to be it so far.

the ice on Cranberry was 8 inches, fishing was slow but we caught some nice pike a few perch and a couple of walleye

Sounds like late first ice this year. I usually come up in February for a time share week at Lake Forest but fishing is typically slow by then because you've already had 3 months of ice. I can't make it this year (work  ) and of course this'll be the year for GREAT February fishing..... LOL
