I caught one years ago through the ice on a tip up.   I had a large minnow on and it never tripped the flag just sucked it in and layed on the bottom.   I was fishing for perch so the tip up was set very light.

Wasn't me but I talked to a guy last year that said anywhere 10ft or less bordering deep water at last light to an hour after dark they can be caught ... If I was closer I'd investigate more

I know they are in there, but I've never caught one there, and I've spent alot of time fishing that lake. Only ones I've ever seen there were 12ish"-18" ones hooked while trolling black and white rooster tails mid morning right down the middle. (I was sick and my buddies went without me, hit a hot streak & took pics just to rub it in)

Doesn't seem like many ppl catching eyes this year. I know I didn't catch any on the hard water I got two 3 wks ago on a creek
What are you going to do,just stand there and worry about it? IF that's the card you're dealt that's the card you play.Just pick up the slack and keep on going.

If you want walleye and live near Wilhelm, fish French Creek.  Find a spot on creek when a feeder stream enters... bucktail jigs tipped with fatheads or creek chubs (preferably creek chubs) at last light and a couple hours into dark.  After the ice and snow run off and the creek stabilizes.

Always catch them in in the open water but when it comes to ice fishing I can't ever seem to catch any
