This area is on my list to check out this year since I have never been out there.  From looking on the map there seems to be a few noteworthy bodies of water in the area.  Any guidance on which ones do well during the winter and what kind of access they have would be helpful.  I am usually in a car when I go by myself. Thanks ahead of time.

You should hit Duff pond!  Just kidding.

I'm from Middleton also and used to go to Manns Creek float tube fishing.  But have never ice fished there.

The road to Manns Creek is accessible by car. I cant say for sure you'd be able to cross over the dam to access the southwest side but I'm fairly certain you'd be able to access the northeast side. You should be able to drive right down the boat dock but I cant promise you that. just a thin sheet of ice is all it would take to prevent it. From that side you'd be able to walk west to the creeks spillway where i would go personally for trout fishing. I know there are other fish present such as bass and perch as well but not a target fish for me at that reservoir.
The ice should be thick enough and i am strongly thinking about trying it myself NewYearsDay. Split between it and Lake Lowell at the moment.

Oh,Hi! And I must say,This is the most awesome Website!!

Just came back from Manns Creek Res. And there was a few fisherman out there with there shanty's up. Cant say if anyone was catching anything. I'd say you could access it with a car but you'd be packing your gear a good 100-150 yards down to the RES. Take a shovel just in case you get stuck and if you've got chains or cables i would take them as well. There was about 9 inches of snow if you slid off the packed down portion of the road.

Thanks for the heads up. With everything freezing up right now the biggest problem is picking where to go.  Thankfully, my days off work are Monday and Tuesday so I can listen to reports from the whole weekend before making up my mind.

I'd like to know if you make it what it's like.  Just trout in there right?
