Great temps right now! I'm going up north to Stewartstown and Pittsburg in 3 weeks, should have plenty of ice! Current temp right now there

I was on the ice all day and it got thicker as the day went on! Small pond mid-state. 2-2.5" of ice.

I had 2"-2.5" on a few water bodies in the Concord area today.  Still a little sketchy if you're on the North side of 200lbs.
"Hope" is not a good fishing strategy!

how bad do u guys think the warmer weather at the end of the week will mess up the ice near the south of the white mountains?
I hate my username. I made it when I was 14 and I dont know how to change it.

It's only supposed to be in the 30's later in the week so don't think it'll mess anything up

Especially since the temps at night drop back down into the 20's. I'd still give it another few days/until next week to safely fish southern lakes. I'm not one of you crazy guys that go out on less than 4"

::) ::) Eight below zero here and I still can't find four inches of good ice??   All of my wax worms are going to turn into blue moths!! :o
North country temps should be producing at least an inch every night, but it doesn't seem to be happening?

North Country got real nice negative temps last night with little wind. That should have made at least 1.5" if not 2" overnight and after this whole, full week you'll have no problem with 4" ;)

I wish I can get up there earlier, but I'm still happy with my Jan 22-24th trip up there.

My friend and I are going up Friday and will stay at my dad's in Stewartstown. Getting up early and going to Diamond Pond on Saturday morning and leaving couple hours before dark to go to Lake Francis to set up Cusk lines. Will check them once at like 8-9pm and reset if needed and head back home for the night. Will then get up early and fish Francis and head home at dark from there.

Got lots of new gear that I can't wait to try out (main one being the new portable shanty, but excited about new poles as well).

If anyone is willing to make a long drive would be nice for extra company and chatter!

Pictures are a definite (long as we catch something haha) ! I haven't gotten an answer if there's cusk on BD, F&G site doesn't list it as a cusk lake to use cusk devices on it. These are two new lakes for me I'm excited to try out. Wanted to get up there last year, but the weather was so nice and cold I stayed at our usual honey hole in Newfound. It's going to drag on waiting 2 1/2 weeks to get up there, but I can't wait! Hoping to set some PBs for lakers and cusk...gonna try my hand at some RT and BT too on Francis.
