My son and I did real well on Manawa today. We started over at Navajo point area, and caught several decent sized crappies (7-10") a lot of bluegills, mostly small, and quite a few small yellow bass. We also had two Largemouth Bass about 10" each.
We then moved out toward middle near a deep hole and caught about 30-40 crappies---most between 8-11" (we let all our fish go back in lake!) and many more small yellows!
ice thickness was between 9-11".
We used kastmaster spoons tipped with maggots, Northland bro bugs (with red plastic tail) and also CJ & spins Slender spoon--which I tipped with a red maki plastic and found a couple of dead minnows on ice that I squished onto that maki plastic...I never baited up that spoon all day--just kept squishing minnow juice on it!
glad we got in a long day of fishing today, as it might be the last with this big storm coming in!
