We had not seen a reliable report of safe ice on the entire lake, so we took a chance and went anyways. Glad we did, fishing was good for 13-15" bows with a couple 17+ mixed in. The entire lake is capped. In the three areas we tried there was a solid 3" of strong black ice, a little thin for me- but we went out cautiously. There were plenty of folks out, but we saw no machines on the ice yet. I don't think temps got out of single digits, so it should just get better. I'm fishing 2 derbies there in the next few weeks, so I was glad to see solid ice- especially after last year. I look forward to contributing to the board, it looks like a great place to exchange info.
