Snowmobile seat covers ?
« on: Dec 02, 2015, 10:02 AM »
Little off the topic. Anybody no of anyone that recovers snowmobile seats?  Nothing fancy. There use to be a local guy that did it but I guess he doesn't anymore looking to get the seat redone on my new ice fishing sled. Thanks for any info.

I do. I'll post up a pic when I can. Biggest thing is if the foam is messed up underneath. Makes it a lot harder to do. I did one for a guy a month ago and it was all rotted out when I stripped it down. Made it a real PIA but it came out good.

Been looking for awhile, one place in Oakland?? (I think) but pricey.

$250 a seat.

I did my Grand Touring myself last fall.  Saddlemen Skins I believe is the brand and it is very nice.  Youtube will show you how if you have never done it, not a big job, just need to make sure everything is good and warm to stretch the leather before stapling it.  Good luck!!

When I recovered the seat onmy old sled I added four inches of foam and a three inch handlebar riser. The new ergonomics made it a lot more comfortable on long rides and ungroomed trails.

MG, Is that a factory cover or aftermarket? My wife's LZ440 needs a new cover and I'm not sure of the aftermarket cover fit. Factory is pricy, but I want the seat to look as good as the rest of the sled.

If you're talking about the pic I posted, it's made from scratch from Allsport 4 way stretch vinyl.

Comfy creations in caribou does them for fairly cheap and does high quality work. You could get a delivery company to transport it for cheap too
