I've been looking to get a real ice system this year, but I've been looking at the lowrance elite series that I can also use for my boat with the add on skimmer transducer. I almost exclusively jigged last year, only setting one or two traps so I can pick up and move quickly if there's not much action in that area. Last year I used a vex sonarphone tpod, and it worked well except when the ice got very thick. It floats so when the ice got thick the interface makes the first 5 ft or so of the surface completely gargled. Which doesn't matter since the fish are rarely hugging the ice.

I'm extremely happy with the LX5 I purchased last season,  it's very easy to use and marks fish great.
