Looked at the Minnesota forum.  Some guy near Gilbert is already fishing and catching pike.  Looking at the weather forecast, we won't start making ice till after Xmas.

Yup, been seeing the pics from North Dakota, Minnesota and now Wisconsin for about a week now.  Also saw a post on other social media of a guy fishing in the North Western UP on some sketchy ice.   Slowly making its way East but afraid that anyone South of US-10 might be waiting into the new year.

The thing that sucks is we are making skim ice at night but since the daytime temps are 10-15 degrees above freezing it's gone the next day.

Rodgers is getting people out to the first break on Red lake. 4-6" of subpar ice. Seen a few nice walleye caught but the water clarity is pretty low right now. Reports showing the fishing has been slow and the guys that are icing fish are on the move. Another week or so and it should be game on.

Saw a video on Facebook and a guy caught a tank of a pike on a Minnesota lake. Wish Mother Nature would be a little nicer to us and stay below 32 degrees for our daytime highs!
I'd rather be fishing!
