Another tire chain Question
« on: Oct 28, 2015, 08:46 AM »
good day relitivly new to this forums but have a question about tire chains

i have a 2015 arctic cat trv 550 with maxis bighorns and im curious if it is possible to load and unload the atv out of the back of the truck with ramps with rear chains on. just bought the atv this year and a trailer is out of the question (living arangements dont permit a trailer)

i want to run chains as the BOQ can get slushy with 12+ Inches of snow or its completely bare.

also i do not have a bedliner, so would chains cause much damage? im not to worried about scratches or dents just dont want holes.

Hopefully she freezes up soon!
thanks Rob

I don't see why it would be a problem, and it would be a real pita putting them on and off when you get to the lake every time as far as the bed of your truck goes tire chains won't poke any holes it may scratch it just put a sheet of cheap plywood down to protect it

The chains will most likely chew up the paint in the bed & bed side of tailgate, but I doubt they would make any holes. If you've got painted steel ramps, the chains will chew the paint off them over time as well. As BIGCREW said, a sheet of plywood will do the trick. Cheap insurance in my opinion.

Plywood can slip and knock the ramps off or whatever....I prefer the fitted rubber mats but they are more money....
