It's getting closer

Scheels in WDM has lots of ice gear on the shelves and we have our first frost coming this weekend. BRING ON THE ICE!!!

All the stores now are rolling out their gear. Scheels, basspro (in altoona) sportmans warehouse, and even fleet farm I CANT WAIT!!! Its going to be my first IOWA ice fishing season. Just moved here from Chicago and cant wait to hit up the ice!!! Time to stat going over old gear, and making a list of what to buy!!

Just was at Fleet farm today. They have started filling the shelves with ice fishing gear. Mostly rods/reels and a few tent accessories are out. I didn't see any lures/jigs out yet. There was enough for me to burn a half hour just mindlessly wondering the aisles.

was in ff in mason city yesterday poles are up most lures are up but only 2 fish houses were up

They should be. I ordered mine from Bass Pro and got the new version. They were sold out last March when I stopped in Altoona to get one

So heres what I found on my trip out today... BPS has the new clam auger plates (thanks DC) and after hitting BPS, FF and Scheels... Scheels has it covered big time! If you need equipment try Scheels first then BPS and unfortunately Fleet farm frankly stinks. FF has been my GO TO store for a while and I will never figure out why they are soooo slow in getting hard water gear out... All they have is TOTALLY empty shelves >:( >:( >:(. I can't understand a business plan that involves empty shelves???

No problem, happy to help.

I would agree with your assessment of inventory.  I was very pleased to see all of the gear that Scheels had out a couple of weeks ago and BPS has it's fair share as well.  For what ever reason, Mills FF is notoriously slow on getting their ice fishing gear on the shelves and this year is no exception.

Not that we need it any time soon (cause this weather sucks)  :'(

One thing with FF is they have limited stock. So if they do finally get their shelves filled. Get in early cause the hot items are picked over fast and never really seem to restock.

I got all of my gear out this evening, just to "check on it" my three year old and I are hanging out in the gargage making sure everything is up to spec.
