Most places that do boat covers will patch them and replace zippers I've done it on my camping tent its good work or you can try the Amish or ask the women in your family if they know of someone who sows witch can be the cheaper rout

Iron on patches or patch material (old tent, umbrella, etc.)glued on both sides using pliobond, the best contact cement going, and stays flexable.

I happen to have a wrecked zipper on the same shack.....i cut some small holes on each side of the zipper and used zip ties to hold it closed......only use one door now but ties have held up well on busted zipper...

I used iron-on patchs in black duck material.  buy these at Walmart or any sewing store.  Have your zipper replaced at a tent repair or boat cover store.

Another place to check on the zipper repair is with your local Cobbler. We have one in town who tackles zippers.

I've used patches from http://www.blackholepatch.com/. I've never had any problems with them coming off, and it matches the Frabill material.

Not sure what is wrong with your guy's zipper but mine was messed up and I went on youtube and put in (how to fix a tent zipper) and a guy named Mr tent shows how to fix what was wrong with mine. May help.
