Thats too bad for him; I very much would have kissed him
Jack fish, on the brain. The fat kind in particular. So I head out to the lake in the wee hours. I actually had a good feeling about today seeing its the day of the 🍀... Until the sun came up in a crystal clear sky. The temperature is above freezing and not a hint of a breeze. Amazing right!? Although these are the type of days that keep the winter clothes at home, inspire the best of moods, give you a tan and a put a rediculous amount of freckles upon my face, it is not at all helpful for Pike fishing
I have yet to even get a bite on that lake in such weather.
So! What did I do? Did I mope around because this very well could be the 8th trip in a row without a fish? Play on my phone in sheer boredom? Nope! I put my ear buds in, and the volume as high as it goes. I danced! I danced for hours with my tackle box - trying on every thing I could think of. Danced with grimmy bait hands while strutting from hole to hole. Honestly, it was really freaking fun to get my heart pumping and let go of some inibitions while getting a dose of vitamin D. I highly recommend it!
Every so often I turned to that one weedy hole just to test my reflexes, it maybe a false tug but its something
So since I can't offer any fish pictures I will slip in some knowledge I have for pike fishing this lake:
NOTHING WORKS!
Have been seeing a lot of wildlife, incuding this herd of 80+ elk today.
