I hate to be a #*!# disturber. what is that saying wind from the east fish is the least is this a myth or is this true.

its generally true for the most part....but I have had some great days when its blowing from the east....Grump

Winds blow from high to low pressure systems. Although in manitoba I would expect you would be used to the wind by now ::)

For the most part wind from the East or North can mean poor fishing, but if you are out there when that happens you just have to work harder to get one to bite. ::)

Another great indicator I have always used is aquarium fish, like goldfish. If you see them swimming allover the tank in every layer of water should be a good day but if you see them belly to the bottom, and it seems that they are having a hard time moving not good for your fishing day. I don't have pet fish anymore but they were very accurate in respect to there wild cousins attitude most days. ;)
