FLX-28?
« on: Feb 18, 2015, 10:59 AM »
Has anyone got to play with the Vex FLX-28 yet? Saw it in a store while in Iowa. I really liked everything about it. Just want some feedback from the guys using it on the ice. Thanks in advance.

I just got one last week.some say its the same as a fl20 but its better.the 5 color palette is great the crisp display and auto mode are good too.i haven't used weed mode yet.i like how the fish targets change from green if they are off in the distance then turn red when they get closer and white when they are inches from the bait.you really know what fish to target.low power mode works great in under 20 ft.plus the digital depth reading in the dial is also quite useful.its  going to be hard to bring the fl20 out again but that too is a rock solid unit.i like everything about the flx 28 so far.i got the vexilar flx28 propack 2 for 579 at reeds.not much more dough than a fl20.

This is my second season with the FLX28 and I LOVE it!!! The weed mode is for real!!! I fish a few spots that are shallow and weedy for gills and when I go into weed mode it helps filter out a lot of the clutter and show only the important stuff. It is also a lot brighter and quieter than any of the other Vex models I have owned in the past. Overall 2 thumbs up!!!

I've had one for about a month and only used a handful of times due to our ice going away. I love being able to switch colors because of being colorblind. I can see colors fine but when they are that close together it kinda screws with me. Moved up from an fl8 and this is my first experience using bottom zoom and absolutely love that too. Fished a tournament and had to hit to ir a couple times but had no problems after that. Weather has been good so looking forward to using it again this weekend!
