13 th lake

Has anyone had any luck with trout 13th lake Johnsburb(near Indian lake) Is it worth the trip up north?

If your going to fish 13th do it just after the season opens. There are some nice browns and land Lock salmon in there.

I'm confused, can you actually ice fish this lake legally ??? Or are you suggesting fishing it in the early spring etc....Thanks :)

You can not ice fish it but when trout season opens april 1st, go up there with worms and bobber and fish it. You will get some nice fish. THe ice is usually melted away from shore by then.

there are also some big brook trout in there. the DEC put a bunch of breeders from a hatchery in there a few years ago, and these are big fish. a guy actually caught the state record, and there was a big hoorah over it. i'm not even sure how it ended, but they were talking about putting and asterisk next to it in the record book because of the breeder stocking.
