West Hill
« on: Jan 19, 2015, 04:34 PM »
Well, due to my injury I will be off all week.  Heading out to West Hill on Wednesday morning by the launch.  They auger is ready to go but I cannot start it due to my hand.  If any one is going, please let me know and maybe you can drill me a few holes.  I will be wearing a bass pro shop camifage hat and Cabelas ice paints.  Stopped by today and it was pretty busy up there due to the holiday.  Ice held up very well, still 8 to 9 iches.  But beware when you go, the launch is a skating rink along with the state parking area.  If any one is going send me a personal message.  Stopping bye cabelas tomorrow to pick another Maine tip up. Thanks and keep a tight line ;D. FYI I will be heading up there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Fishing report...Browns are being caught and 200 yards from the launch, but I know where the Bows are hanging out.  And that's what I'm going for! Bows are a better eating fish than Browns.  Browns are very mushy and like eating mud.  The main hit is early in the morning, 11am then again around 2pm.

The Bows tend to be allot firmer.  They are both great eating fish, but I like my trout aldente style.

For stockies, especially rainbows try a #10 hook loaded with 4-5 spikes. Light leader, 3-4 lb test.
