I believe he is referring to the Gaff Ice Rods that a few people have mentioned on here with high regards, not a gaff hook.

Hey guys I don't think he sells them on the internet. Take hwy 33 from Fort Wayne
through Busco until you come to Merriam(Hwy 9) turn left and go a couple of miles and you will see a big white barn on the left, right after that you turn left and go down a long curving lane. His shop sits on the right side of the driveway by itself.
If you get lost ask them at the gas station for help. Just about everyone in this area
knows gaff rods.
Good luck!

What makes a Gaff rod better than a St Croix Legend Elite, just curious?

Jigginstick!
I just bought my 9 year old a rod from there last week it cost $30.
He offers different stlyes of spring bobbers also. I prefer the flat spring
over the coil because of wind and it spins in circles. Where as a flat
spring will move just up and down.I'm telling you guys they are worth the trip to see. Also hit Chain O Lakes and you will see several of these in action.
Later Greg

I've been fishing gaff rods for 15 years they are the best! He will make any size custom rod you want. Price varys from 25-40 dollars. He will stand behind his rods for ever. I am picking 2 more up this weekend that he is custom building for me. Gillgetter

I was wondering if someone could post a little more precise directions and address to Gaff.
Is it an actual store?

I know Brent very well. He has a shop next to his house. He's located South of 33 on S.R. 9 about 2 miles on the east side. There is a white barn and sign that reads custom ice rods. He's usually there most days, but I would call ahead and make sure (260-691-3240). He also makes awesome fly rods. If you want the most sensitive ice rod made ask him to make you one out of graphite. I have one that's 54''. But be very careful with it. It will break in a heartbeat if it gets dinged.
