Brand new strike master auger leaking.
« on: Jan 14, 2015, 09:14 PM »
i bought a new auger two weeks ago, two days ago while making some modifications to my topper to stow the auger I noticed it was leaking gas. It almost seems as though there is an o-ring missing in the cap or something. Anyone ever heard of this?

Did the fuel line connected to primer bulb come off?
Mine brand new lazer pro's did. Have to replace them. Theyre too short.

Do you have the cap facing down? Most will leak if the cap is facing down.

First thing you need to figure out is where is the fuel leaking from. Is it the gas Cap, Fuel line, Fuel Tank, Carb  or exhaust? There are too many answers to just this question that is too vague.

Thank you for the input gentleman! My work schedule is rough but I think I'll have time to give it a look over this evening. My guess is it's just the way I had it sitting.

I have a lazer mag I got a few weeks ago. Drilled 50 holes and started leaking bad, took off the air filter cover and noticed the gas line to the primer was disconnected. Pushed it back on and she ran fine. Might need to do as mentioned above and get longer ones or use a small clamp on it.

My StrikeMaster Magnum had a leak the second year I had it. It was the rubber grommet in the side of the gas tank where the gas line passes through. With the tank being drained in storage the grommet shrunk and as soon as I put gas in it the tank it started leaking. Left the tank full and put a rag under it until the gas swelled the grommet back up. No problem since. I leave tank full now when I store it.

I have a new Strike master that leaks also. I contacted Strike master customer service, and they say they had a batch of Solo motors that have a vent tube, that is too short. They say they will send a new one with instructions. I will update when it arrives.
