Just got a tank myself - petsmart  had em a buck gallon till JAN 24. couldn't resist the 40 gallon!  I will save in gas running around for bait what I spent on it in two weekends.

My garage is un attached to the house and gets just above freezing. Perfect for my bait tank. Water is just about to freeze but my filter keeps it from.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I keep just enough shiners in a 5 gal bucket with a cheap filter from Walmart, in my basement . Never have shiner shock issues. That being said, I buy shiners from Citgo in Alton circle, which is warm in side and then go directly to my fishing spot and do not experience shiner shock either?????

most stores that sell bait also run chllers on there tanks which is why you dont experience shock in your bait .... trust me keep your bait in your nice warm living room /basement and use the water thats in your tank and i gaurantee your bait will go into shock when 1 your are on your way to the lake or 2 as soon as you place them in the water ! nor will they be as liely if they dont die !

Very true Mark. I keep my leftover bait as cold as possible.
