So I will be hiking 2 to 4.5 miles to my neighborhood lake, portability is the primary priority.

I was thinking a quickfish 2i which gander has this year (insulated version) but read that it is too small/short for 2; so back on the hunt.
I'm leading towards a quickfish3i & looking for the best price...
....... or a better suggestion if you have one...

-height of the qf3 is 6ft 8, much better than the qf2 and 767fatfish, I can't stand up in the latter two, and seems like setting the hook could be a pain
-wondering if a shanty with 600d fabric and no insulation would be lighter and still prevent condensation when going in and out of a warm shanty (and survive more seasons vs 300d)
-fishing solo primarily, but like to have my gear inside... and occasional fishing with my 8yr old, and on some rare occasions with fishing buddy
-I may opt for a jet sled to pull behind me, but trying to limit weight so it doesn't bulldoze snow

1st shanty and trying for a versatile setup on the cheap,... thanks for any input
Tight lines!

Add your location ...so folks can better give you advice on shelters based on your weather/area

if you search(upper left) Smitty sleds you weight concerns will be eliminated

600 D fabric will give you less wind whip and some better insulation  ...not certain on the condensation issues but I would think it would be a concern/bother   as opposed to a thermal

with hubs make certain you get free shipping ...most places will fall in line with pricing

I got my QF3I from Glens Army navy. A sponsor of the site and best price that I could find last year when I got it. ;) ;)
