Are you using the poles from a quickflip or making something?

i bought a replacement canvas and trying to make it fit my otter sled...i am making the poles i was trying to figure out how they mounted so i can use them like the way the tent was designed...i did find a manual online...got an idea on the hinge point...looking into using p.v.c pipe for 2 of the bows and aluminum conduit for the others...trying to make it more compact for transport plus lighter...draghing around a 50lb shelter plus all gear is like dragging a yearling doe...lol..i picked up set of rossingal skiis for $5...which makes dragging on low snow accumulations or bare ice almost like it doesnt weigh nothing...

Since you're making your own poles I would think you can make them pretty much make them any way you want to just as long as the canvas fits them.  I never did this before but I would add a pole across the top (front to back) to make a peak to the roof so if it snows or rains it will roll off and help keep you drier inside.  I would base my design from the one in the owner's manual since that one works.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I'll consider this one of the more recent posts on the topic of a home-built flip over using an Eskimo skin.

I have one as well and have a few questions regarding the sled size and orientation.  The manual lists the sled as 50" long and 32" wide - I haven't quite found a sled to match yet but I'm still looking.  I'm also thinking of building my own deck/Smitty Sled to fit it - or possibly just let it free stand without a sled plop it on the Smitty when I intend to use it.

For the bows I plan on using (5) 1/2" EMT - cheap, accessible, easy to form
The hinge can vary from a metal L bracket similar to OEM or a plywood triangle
Fluff like the seat will be lost and a cooler/seat will double down as they get dragged out with the Smitty anyway.

Has anyone here fabricated their own flip over using the Eskimo skin?  Can you share pics or text of the experience?
Trust me, when the Zamboni driver says "You won't catch fish through that hole", he knows of what he speaks.
