Went to Jackson Sunday, caught 16in trout and 8in walleye in the inlet. Ice was 8in thick with 6in snow on top. Stopped and checked the dam, ice was 12in thick with 6in snow cover. Very slushy near the dam, ice probably sinking with all the weght. Didn't mark any fish at the dam.

I'm going to try Jackson on Saturday if the ice is still decent. Never fished it before, but I have already caught enough trout in the hills and its only Jan 6th. :-)

I've been considering giving the Jumbo Annex a try, but that's a long drive to do with out an info on how it's been fishing! If anyone has been there recently let me know, if the ice is still good I might try a trip out there later this month.

Does anyone ice Sterling?? That used to be a pretty good lake, but have heard it's had some issues the past couple of years.

Iced it 4-5 years ago.  3 of us plus 6 locals. Not 1 bite.

Iced Prewitt twice 4-5 years ago.  3 of us . 1 carp.

Iced Jumbo 3 years ago.  9 of us.  Not 1 bite.

See a pattern here? ;D

Stopped by Jumbo Annex last Friday afternoon for a little over an hour and the ice was good.   Punched about 20 holes but no fish.

Guess those fish all get tight lipped when things freeze over! Might as well make the trip to Nebraska if I'm driving that far... Now to find a lake in Nebraska to ice.

Anyone been out lately in the northeast part of the state. Seem like the fishing is slow to none like usual. Talk with the fish and game they said the shad count is still high. Hope the ice holds on with all the warm weather.  Tried north sterling marked only baitfish looking to try the marina area for some crappie this week.
