Green fluid coming from Eskimo Stingray 33cc
« on: Jan 01, 2015, 12:38 PM »
I went fishing yesterday and was planning on going today so i just left my auger and sled in the back of my pickup last night.  Well it got down to about -10 degrees and when I came out this morning there is green fluid on various parts of my auger.  There's not a ton of it and it started just fine and I ran it for about 3-4 minutes and it seemed to be working just fine but I am wondering where this fluid came from and if it could cause any problems in the future.

Fisher, could you be a little more specific on those various part names ?

Would you care to say what type of fuel is used in your Stingray ?

This will help with making a more accurate guess as to what the green fluid is and where it came from.     ;)2

Thanks.

Upon closer inspection I think it's just 2 stoke fuel that has spilled out over time and then crystalized a bit with the frost on my auger. once the frost melted off i couldn't see it anymore and cant see anything leaking from anywhere else.  I'll say false alarm for now.

Pretty sure it's leaking power steering fluid ...

Better trade it in, I think the muffler bearing seal is shot and lube is leaking. ;D

Check the vent screw on the fuel cap and make sure the gasket isn't missing.

My stingray started leaking bad from the fuel tank black plastic gasket this year after leaving it empty in the garage...weird but easy fix.  With mine the black rubber gasket/cork that holds the fuel line in the tank and positions the fuel line to the carburetor had shrunk with the variable temperature.  Every time I filled the tank over half full the shake of the motor at the yank on the pull chord would leak 2 stroke all over the bottom of the fuel tank.  This lead me to think there was a pin hole in the bottom of the fuel tank.  I took the tank off with the 4 gold bolts (make sure to hold the plastic set nuts with an 8mm wrench while you unscrew the gold screws.  Then I just took out the rubber cork that holds the line and filter surrounded it with J and B weld and glued it back in place.  It drastically helped with the start time and now it runs smooth as glass.  I hope this helps someone even if this wasn't the original post problem!
