Williams Fork - 3 January 2015
« on: Jan 03, 2015, 10:53 PM »
It was downright balmy to start the day at +12F, no wind.  Started at the east boat ramp, found 6-7" of ice and it was on on 45-55FOW.  Usual stuff worked tipped with sucker of course.  My friend caught a beast of a brown trout: 23" and 5.0 pounds according to the Rapala.  Between us we caught about 30 lakers, ended up taking about 12 home.

The ice report is posted in the R&C section.

The 11 Mile, she is a b****.  I have to say it was fun to watch the Vex and actually see fish.   :)  Now I just have to figure out how to retire to Grand County... ;)

Lake trout is one I still need to check off my list. Sounds like suckers are a favorite for lakers. Do you catch your own or do you buy suckers at a bait shop? I am always listening for any tips on how to catch lakers.
