Sleeper shack on Mille Lacs or Red or others
« on: Dec 26, 2014, 05:20 PM »
Hey guys looking for ideas.  My Father and I are looking on renting a sleeper on a lake in MN.  He talked to some guys on Mille Lacs and I am just looking for the best bang for our buck.  Have never fished any of the lakes up there and will be coming from Wi.  Also looking for good places to rent shacks from.  Fire away guys and thanks in advance.

I would definitely pick Red. You can keep 3 fish, and they have been having a very consistent day bite along with an exceptional 5-9 pm night bite.

You will have to make a few calls. I know some of the outfitters are booked for the season.

I was fishing in Ontario this summer and met a guide from Minnesota who recommended I try:   http://www.startribune.com/sports/outdoors/114607619.html

He said the bite on Red Lake was outstanding the last time he used one of their fish shacks.  I've never fished it myself, but this guy was from that area and seemed to know what he was talking about.
