Grad Rapids Area
« on: Dec 17, 2014, 09:18 AM »
Heading up to grand rapids next week for xmas.  Hoping to get the kids out of the house and on some ice.  How far north of GR do we need to get to find safe ice?  I really don't care about catching or great fishing, just want to get out for a couple of hours if possible.  If I could catch some fish that would be a bonus.  I see they are fishing in Cadillac but wondering if there's anywhere a little closer.  Tha ks in advance!

I work in GR. You are going to have to go several hours north to get any ice.... Sorry Bro.

I live 20 minutes north of grand rapids , over the last couple days ice pulled back 50 yds from shore it should tighten up this week.
