Hey guys, was wondering what y'all are running on your marmish rod?

Dave-I mainly use 2lb. for panfishing. I have one of the lighter Marmish rods set up with 1lb. line as well. I don't use that one often, but will occasionally use it for a very tough bite. I use sewing thread in the 2lb. and 1lb. variety you can find at Wally World in the sewing department. Tight lines.

I use a 4 lb Suffix orange line with a 3 foot length of ASSO 1.5 lb. fluorocarbon leader.  It seems to handle panfish and smaller trout without a problem.  I need to use the setup more often to use it "Elegantly".  More like a jail break when I hook a fish now.  Any tips on using it would be appreciated.

I couldn't see the 1.5 lb. stuff well enough to thread it onto the marmish, so I used 3 lb. That's with my readers on and and bright light. New gear that I haven't tried yet.

As I understand it being used in Europe, a fisherman who catches a fish will literally toss the rod downwind, and handline the fish to the surface. Most of the fishing there is for very small fish. Make sure you are facing with your back to the wind so that the line blows away from the hole instead of back toward you.
