hey boys, i have been watching a lot of sturgeon spearing videos on youtube lately and I was wondering why all of them have cross like brace looking things sitting on the bottom?

It's there to help with contrast.  Sturgeon tend to hang out on the bottom, so it can be difficult to see them, depending on water clarity.  If one swims over the cross, it really pops out at you.

I did a little heater test this morning.  It was 19 degrees here, and I put a Mr. Heater Buddy heater in there on high.  Only left it on for 15 minutes and it was already up to 54 degrees.  Hopefully that will translate to a warm shack actually out on the lake.

good luck with spearing this year. i just built myself a mini spearing shack to be more mobile this year and also ordered myself a new ice saw. pretty pumped for this years spearing season!
