Late Afternoon Action In NOCO!!

Took the Lund to Boedecker this morning but it was capped, pretty thin by the boat ramp so I went ahead and put in, motored out breaking ice as I went, just as I was about to hit a large pocket of open water I ran into ice about 3" thick and could not get through it...my 17' Lund just kept getting on top of the ice and sitting there so I had to back off and return to the ramp. :%$#!:
This afternoon I decided to drive up to my crappie pond and check the ice conditions. Ice was crappy with the warm temps but still supported me good! :)  I caught and released 8 crappie and 9 gills before darkness set in. ;D

Nice fish!  Just curious, how much ice did you have on the pond?

About 3.5" but declining fast!

Nice!  Gotta love those small ponds.  After another cold snap I'll be looking for some warm water species again.

Nice job finding a place to fish, I hear Carter and Horsetooth will be open till mid December.
