DIY ...Magnetic Attach Auger covers

Wondering if any one has done any DIY attachment for their Auger covers.

Seen some sale able kits and did a quick search for rare earth magnets on ebay and it had me thinking of trying to come up wit ha DIY solution for my Eskimo.

My thought is to mount a fem of these to the auger cover with epoxy.


Would love to see ideas methods or general discussion on how to DIY a project like this ...

To be honest I seen these and thought it would be easy enough to replicate ...I like DIY stuff ..

I can spend hours paging thru the Ice sled Mods here

I was looking at my Auger and they lost the Rubberband during the move back to MI.

I think Icehogger is a fair price  and is still an option....

But If I was to buy only the 3 or 4 magnets required it would be very cheap.

There is another mod or purchased option that is a snap and click deal as well but you have to buy the whole cover.

Just wondering if any one has built a better mouse trap ....

 You can get those magnets at a local craft store and they may be cheaper

Ive used a bucket and bungee cord on my augers for years..after seeing the magnetic cover..I will def modify my buckets with magnets...
