Jaw Jacker?
« on: Jan 30, 2015, 12:42 PM »
How does everyone keep their pole from going into the drink while using their Jaw Jacker for bigger fish like pike, walleyes or even big trout? I know you can set the drag but if you go to loose it won't hook the fish. So who has had experience with Jaw Jackers and big fish?

Jaw jackers have the arms that swing out in front of the unit and go on each side of the hole (just about even with the end of your rod). When a bigun latches on and runs, all the weight is put onto the arms in front of the unit, preventing it from flipping over. I made some DIY jackers recently and used this feature in my build. I tried to flip it by pulling as a big fish would. Jacker did not budge no matter how hard I pulled, and my drag was tight. You will snap the line before the unit flips or falls over.
