Still catching striped bass from the beach, here on the cape.  Besides regardless of the weather, I will not be able to fish until after Christmas.  Looking to get one of those clam suits. my red coat (similar to Millybilly's) has a few very thin spots.

Gonna start my pre-ice exercise program.
Last year, even with the amount of ice we had, I hand cut all my holes for the season.

Finished the season with trips up to the NH lakes region on 2+ feet of ice.
Almost had the auger bottom out on one pond, but that was a 6" hand auger with a shorter handle.

By the end of the season I could cut holes almost as fast as a power auger. (almost ;D)

I was mainly jigging for panfsh, and it was highly theraputic being able to cut holes without stopping.
(Of course the new sharp blades DID help!)

I can't wait for this year's ice season to start.

There's always the possibility of a "road trip" up north, but if the conditions are sketchy, I'll be waiting it out for safer ice.
I do have a brother in the lakes region who's house is near a number of good fishing spots, but once again, it's either safe ice or no go!

Spent last night going through tackle figuring out what I needed.  The northerns did a number on my jig collection last year.  Time to use up some Cabelas points I guess.  61 here yesterday but forcast is cold going forward.  I'm hoping for the first week in December being on some ice somewhere.

My new Nils hand auger should be here tomorrow morning as well as a proper spud. I've been going ghetto for too long… moving up to working class this year I tell ya.
I'm focused on lakers until the end of the month but after that I wanna see frozen  :tipup:
