IT WAS A GREAT DAY ON THE ICE YESTERDAY! (12-22-05) ME, BRAWLER AND HIGH TIDE (i think)

WERE OUT THERE KILLING UM!!
WE HAD NON STOP BLUE GILLS ALL DAY LONG, NOT TO MENTION A FEW BASS, PERCH AND CRAPPIE. NOTHING REAL BIG BUT PLENTY OF NICE KEEPERS!!

THIS WAS THE LONE SHANTY UNTIL WORD GOT OUT THAT THE GILLS WERE BITING!!

AND THEN SMOKERK CAME AND JOINED IN ON THE FUN!!!

LOOK AT THE PROUD BRAWLER WITH HIS CATCH OF THE DAY!!

I EVEN HAD MY SON OUT THERE(peeping out the shanty) AND HE WAS CATCHING SOME NIIIIIIIIIIICE GILLS!!!

WHO IS THAT MASKED MAN FISHING OUTSIDE THE SHANTY?
I THINK HE WAS A VIKING!!!

DID SOMEBODY SAY FISH?

HARD AT WORK AND LOVING IT!!!

THE BRAWLERS BASS. TOO BAD IT WAS 2 INCHES SHORT FROM BEING THROWN ON THE ICE!!
ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GOOD DAY, WE ENDED UP STAYING OUT THERE UNTIL AROUND 10:30 AT NIGHT THEN HAD TO GO. A COUPLE OF OTHER MEMBERS FROM THIS BOARD ALSO CAME OUT RIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT AND SET-UP. DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL THEY CAUGHT.

hahaha!! i'm lucky, i don't have to clean them. just catch them!!

today is my youngest sons b-day and we might just go out and try to catch some more!!

The ice was 6-7 inches with about 4-5 inches of good ice. And yes, the fishing was great, I personally filleted 98 bluegills the next morning, and still dreamed about filleting fish all night. Then we went to bass lake the next night and did well on the crappie and blanked on the eyes, but ended up with some great fish. My wife had me rolling when she said I was setting hooks in my sleep all night, with all these addicts on this site I'm sure I wasn't the only one. She said next I will see you sleep walking to your bucket!

Brawler &Turbojigger,
Hey guys tunadew and I stayed until around 2:00a.m. and continued to catch them in great numbers! I have fished at night for many years but have never seen a bluegill bite quite like that in the middle of the night. Wanted to also thank you guys again for sharing your waters and info with a couple out of town guys, Thanks alot!!

SHOULD'VE STAYED A BIT LONGER AND CAUGHT 2 MORE AND MADE IT 100 OR YOU COULD'VE JUST SWIPED SOME MORE OF MINE!!!!

IT'S ACTUALLY BRAWLERS SHANTY BUT I BELIEVE IT ONLY HAS ONE ROD ALSO.

Congratulations! Looked like you guys stayed busy. I'm not looking for any secret spots but was wandering where or if there is still anyplace at Geist for the public to park to get on the ice?

Just got back from geist. Had a good time out with turbojigger this evening. We were able to put a few crappies and bluegills in the bucket. No, there is very limited parking anywhere unless you know someone or have a general disregard for the law. I tend to lean toward the latter on a lot of days.
