mn wheel house laws

i just picked up a 2015 ice castle toy hauler 6 1/2 x 14 and im not sure the laws for license. Do i need a plate or can i just get a lifetime sticker for it?

It will need to be licensed like any other trailer.

The Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety–DVS requires trailers used to haul fish
houses or dark houses and enclosed trailers or recreational trailers used for fishing
to be registered. See your local Deputy Registrar for trailer registration.
• A tag, furnished with a license, must be attached to the exterior in a readily
visible location.

• Trailers larger than 3,000 lbs require plates and must be renewed annually. Fees are based on weight.

Wheel houses are treated different from utility trailers. I have a 6.5 X 14. It is under 3000 lbs. When I registered it I was told that if I use it strictly for ice fishing I could have the lifetime sticker. If I was going to use it for anything else, such as deer camp or summer camping, it was then a recreational vehicle and I wound need the RV plate that gets renewed every February. I believe a toy hauler your size would require a plate because the GVWR would be greater than 3000 lbs.

yea mines under 3000lbs. anyone know what that cost for a license

Last year mine was 57.50 without tax and trasfure fees.
For 3000lbs .
