clam drill plate?
« on: Mar 20, 2014, 09:24 AM »
Does anyone have one of these?  Looking to sell it?  Know anywhere that still has any in stock?  You would think with such a high demand on these things that clam would've produced more throughout the season.

Last I knew there was a few still available at the Foxborough Bass Pro store. however you need to call by phone and have either a Bass pro Gift card (can get at walmarts or grocery store) or a Bass Pro credit card a regular credit card won't work for some reason they can't sell one to you over the phone (not sure why but trust me) The # is 508-216-2000. Don't bother looking online because they are not listed.
Hope This Helps.

Dockside in colchester will sell clam products for next season and will be able to order upon request as soon as clam has more in stock.  I emailed clam on several products sold out everywhere and their answer was late summer to fall time frame.  Price on the drill plate I've heard is supposed to be priced around $80 for next season.

I purchased a nils 4 1/2 inch auger for my drill and got to say i would not be jigging if I had to drill by hand. Up to a foot hand augers are not too bad but 2 feet plus, the old shoulderwon't take it. This thing is slick. Cuts me 28 holes in 2 foot of ice in 8 to 10 seconds. Weighs about 8 pounds so you can stay light. Get two batteries if you have to chase em and you will be good to go.

FYI...I made my own drill adapter by removing the crank handle on my 4 and 6" Mora hand augers and drilling out the center of the shaft with a 1/2 drill and then tapping the hole with a 1/2 X 16 tap.then I made a shaft to fit by cutting a i/2" threaded rod about 6" long and threading it into the auger bit and then grinding the shaft to fit my 1/2 " drill

Thanks for the update I hope someone gets it. I love mine. I too made my own years ago but this plate for the money is well worth it.
