spring pike fishing
« on: Mar 23, 2014, 12:51 PM »
So I'm asking this here instead of the other site because the ice forums are a lot more active. Me and my buddy have been itching to try fly fishing for pike spring into summer when they are spawning. Where would you guys recommend trying? I was think Winchester or bantam. I know the river coves are an option too. I've got a 17 foot bass tracker so I'm pretty pretty versatile in the places I can get. Any info is appreciated.
The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike

I would love to fish white oaks. Pike in there for sure. I think Blaine has some videos of him getting some in there.

If I were trying to take a pike on the fly I would fish the housy from falls village up to sheffield ma.  I have landed pike to 18# on that river and there are larger.  Plenty of 30-35" pike as well.
