As of yesterday (3/28/14) the lakes I have been on both south and north of GR the shore ice was holding but I would still use caution. The ice itself is still holding but with the warm temps coming I am guessing this will be the last hurrah!

Was out on a small northern Kent County lake last night and there was still probably 16 inches of ice and the shore ice was fine as well.  If the sun shines, the shore will go fast, but there is still lots of ice.

Same deal as any year. Find lakes with a south shaded entry point and it last for two weeks longer. Bring your spud with some caution it can pay off in meals and big fun.
