south colwell pond
« on: Mar 07, 2014, 06:44 PM »
I thought about fishing South Colwell Pond north of Sandy Pond.is it any good for panfish and Crappie this time of year? I was told there is a lot of pike.I am not much into fishing for pike with tipups but don't mind reeling one in every now and then.I tried google to see how deep it might be, but to no avail.any info would be appreciated.

We went there yesterday and drilled some holes and found it to be very shallow all the way through.like 3ft of water shallow.except the channel between the two ponds and it was close to 6 ft there.the weeds can be seen at the top of the ice where they have been frozen in.it is a very shallow and weedy pond.didn't see any fish in the holes we drilled.we ended up going back to GP.
