new stove
« on: Dec 22, 2005, 02:57 PM »
My new stove is just about done. I went to Bangor Steel and had them cut the 1/8 steel to the size. The stove measures 16X13X12. The cost of the steel was $71.00. I have also put 10 fire bricks to insulate the bottom and sides. The bricks are 41/2"X9" at $2.50 a brick. Went to Mardens and bought my elbows and reducer for $3.00. The stove pipe was bought in Southwest for $3.59 a two foot lenght. I got 4 pieces for $14.32. I think I made it to big. I also bought 8 pieces of 3/16 angle iron for the legs and inside surport. It cost about $125.00 all together, but should last longer than the store bought.

Just because you have a woodpile you don't have to burn it all at once.  :D  I should have made it 8"X10"X12".

Sounds like you are going to be just fine with that stove. Drop me a line and we can try to get hooked up this winter. I fish on Eagle some and spend alot of time on Green.

Thank you to all my fellow Veterans
