a new piece of equipment
« on: Feb 20, 2014, 07:50 AM »
My wife ran across this on the net
http://www.autoblog.com/2014/02/18/mtt-136-electric-treaded-tank-sled/
looks interesting if they can get it to market.                  [[[[ due to the amount of snow we have this year]]]]

That thing is crazy I want one.

kind of ironic, "if they can get to market due to the amount of snow"

one would be eating some serious snow when it sticks to the tracks more or is warmer out than the video depicts
needs a snow flap, but pretty cool

It wouldn't be hard to put a snow flap on just hang it from the handle bar

They need dealers to sell it. Who ever become the dealer would make tons of money.

A lot better than what I thought I might see . Actually has a little bit of speed as well as enough power for all ice fishing needs you could have. Looks to be manageable and very loadable by yourself
Where's the check out lane at?
Seriously anyone have a price tag on that?

Since my wife has ruled out the purchase of an underwater camera, no need inquiring about the chances of parking this beast in our garage!

If he could figure out a way to put a seat and a pair of skis on it so you could steer and maybe a windshield he would really have something.  ;D

With that exposed track my guess is it would never be sellable in this country. The first Lawyer that gets wind of this and sees some guy go over the handlebars and onto the exposed track would have a field day.

Pretty much what I just posted in the MA forum. This thing is all over the web, and I seem to be part of the minority that thinks it's cool on paper but dumb in practice. All I saw in that video is a dangerous exposed track doing an awful job of plowing and a great job of filling a sled with snow. A solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

I'm guessing there's a kill switch of some sort. Also is tethered to sled. Charge times seem excellent and if they'd downsize it a bit it would be a game changer pulling  flip-overs...

There are videos on youtube of guys in Russia using things like this that are gas powered but can't remember what they were called.  It actually looked like a nice light weight economical way of getting around.  Wish I could find one around here.
