Bass Pro Auger
« on: Feb 18, 2014, 04:12 PM »
Just in case anyone owns or is looking at the bass pro hand augers. They're a good auger for the price. Cut well. Blades are cheap. Only issue, and it's a known issue, is that the blade screws come loose and you can sometimes lose one while your out. If you go to a hardware store and pickup 3/8" 10-32 screws and use loctite you'll be good to go. Figured I'd post the size screw so other folks don't have to hunt for it in the store. Cheers

I bought one last year... Paid $25 for the auger and $20 for two sets of extra blades. I used it all last season and this season, still cuts well and I haven't had to swap the blades yet.

They are great augers. Same design as a mora. those of you that have a mora and don't wanna pay $30 for blades the $10 ones for the BPS auger is interchangeable. Like someone said make sure your screws are tight

It was one of those 8 hour black Friday sales... I think they are normally $39.95. Blades are always $10 from what I've seen though.
