How big will the burbot be in the tourney.
« on: Nov 30, 2005, 04:02 PM »
Heh BC, I did some research and found out the biggest burby caught in Manitoba was only 39 inches. I know we can shatter that (Icechip???). My guess would be 43 inches :o :o

Got one already TGF? ::) LOL sorry I know you'd never break the rules. We'll see what I can get out of the Home Ranch. You should give me some pointers :woot:

Well I stand corrected. The biggest fish in Manitoba is 42.5 inches. I still think we can beat that in Iceshanty tourney. All the big lakes are not froze yet. Thats where I like to go for burbot. I also find fishing for them starts getting good in mid February.
Is Peak lake frozen over yet? I didn't know it had burbys, but then again I don't fish there.
Pointers: Just check out the eelpout tips...lots of good info.

I know of guys that start fishing for Ling in November. I have heard that this is when they move back into the lakes before the winter comes. 90% of guys fish at night for them here, is what you PG guys do?

You bet JP. Most of the time I target them at night with glow in the darks. In deep 100-150ft of water I sometimes pick them up in day but in general seem smaller. I have a hot little jig that works great for them up here. PM me if interested.
