I am in Altoona so can be north or south in an hour.  Which will hold up better.

I would say north, but check before going on. You should know your area better than us in eastern pa. Up our way north always is the first to freeze and the last to hold up.

I expect the Southeast ice to go down to nothing from the rain.
Snow, freezing rain won't really hurt anything up North.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed...  The good thing about the South Central PA forecast is that the rain is only projected to be for the last 2 hours of and that's good news as long as it's not a heavy rain.  Originally, they were calling for rain for 5-7 hours.  It could stay cold if things keep going the way that they are now! ;)

snowing like hell in south williamsport, still 21 degrees
The more fish we release, is more fish we all can catch.  b/c we all like to catch.   Catch, Photo, Release!!  Such an easy concept, but so hard for others to understand!!!!!

30 degress and raining here in Del Co. Some of the lakes would take a really heavy rain to wipe out. The most damaging scenario is when feeder streams overrun the new ice. At least they're only calling for a day or two of warm weather,  followed by several colder than average days. Unlikely to see any single digits again for some time in these parts, though. Probably after X-mas, our more typical ice fishing season.

I wish we had a little rain to get rid of all this snow on the ice.  All this weight will make the ice drop and it will be a sloppy mess under the snow.   ???
Bring on the ice!!!!!!!  <br />

46 degrees and raining steadily here in Easton, PA... any hopes I had that Lake Towhee would be fishable are probably melting away as I type this.  :-[

Hopefully the Pocono's are a bit colder.  :-\

31 degrees here in Howard and the sky is clearing up, sun is trying to peek through. Looks like we got another 5 or 6 inches here, haven't ventured outside yet.

Chester County - lots of rain.  Creeks running high.  Reports of flooding in some areas.

Went to bed last night with snow on the ground everywhere.  Woke up today to my green lawn.....

Probably gonna need waders to fish Marsch Creek or Struble....  I will check later today or first thing tomorrow morning.

The garret shortcut can be fierce. Just getting back into the hard water fishing. Never tried the yough but it is on my list of possibilities. How about you? It seems like we have two season down here sometimes. Winter and thaw-out. The temps are suppose to get colder so that is always good.  I may go to high point if I get a chance this weekend.

We were walking through 2-3" of water in some places on a lake in Luzrene County earlier today. Drilled a hole and watched all the water whirlpool until most of it was off. Only problem was by the tie it stopped you had a 10" hole when you started with an 8".

fastribs85 and I hit Lake Towhee in Upper Bucks Co today, 4 inches of solid ice! I can't believe I was out this early this year. The fishing was dead early in the morning with a slight pick up midmorning with a couple Bass
for myself and a couple Gills for Todd. He picked up a decent Pickeral in the late AM.
I had to leave just before noon, but Todd was staying for a bit longer, maybe he will see this post and let us know how he did.

Mike
I don't like it here, so I will probably be here for a while.........
