Fishing With a Walking Boot?
« on: Jan 23, 2014, 08:44 PM »
I've been in a walking boot for a couple weeks and I'm finally getting a chance to get back on the ice. My only problem is I don't know what to do about the boot. I was thinking about doubling up on wool socks, throwing a plastic bag over it, and staying in the portable if it gets too cold. Has anyone ever been out with one of these before or have any advice?

You could put a few of those disposable hand- foot warmers in your socks.. Keep it dry! Good luck!

personally no but im sure some foot warmers, good socks(maybe water proof) and some determination will have you on your way  ;)
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I have. One year I made it thru hunting and ice fishing in a walking boot after a nasty ankle injury. Foot warmers, socks, and a plastic bag, and a little help from your friends. It is not that bad, bring plenty of foot warmers, because without the insullation of a boot, you need heat on the foot. You can also bring a towel and wrap it around your foot and plastic bag when sitting still.
