Vexilar mag lense on Marcum LX5
« on: Jan 06, 2014, 10:39 PM »
I thought I saw some where on another forum where a guy retro fitted a vexilar FL 8/18 magnifying display cover to a Marcum LX 5 or 3. Has any one of you came across an article with such info. I know the Marcum is a bit larger than the FL 8/18. But if I remember right it didn't take too much. Thanks

Looks like it's advertised as a "snow cover".  Does it also magnify?  I'm thinking about picking one up too....
I'd rather be fishing!

the marcums I saw around and on the Marcum site is a snow cover only, not a magnifier. I took a vex magnifier ground off the tabs on the inside if it, then heated up the edge carefully with a torch and slide it on the Marcum  for a tight fit, then used some black tape to keep it on. Works pretty good.
