Just ordered a new reel and new line. Went with fireline crystal. Do you guys use leaders on this stuff? I'll probably have a barrel swivel on here anyways to eliminate line twist so it would be easy. I've heard nothing but good stuff about this line.

I put a fluoro leader on mine with a barrel swivel. Has worked great for me.

I use the smallest crane swivel I can get away with, and I run a leader of flouro. 4,6,8,10lb depending on what I am fishing for and with...

I agree with both guys above. I use Crystal 3lb (Backing) with a 2lb floro leader about 20'. I have had to battle several pike to get my jig back. I win about 66% of those battles as the Crystal helps on ice edge and extra 1lb too. However I get little to no twist because I use INLINE Reels w/ my Crystal. Bless
