I had this afternoon off so ,of course, I got my gear together and headed out locally. First stop was a trout pond at 1400 feet elevation. Edges were shot at the access point , wind was pushing water over the top of the ice and the ducks were feeding in a huge patch of open water! Next stop was the onota ramp and the edges were dicey there as well but people had found a way out somehow. Went across the lake to a private access that I have and edges were worse. Stopped by the ramp at Richmond Pond and the edges were soft and receding. Ended up at the Stockbridge Bowl ramp and got on by walking over some deadfall. Guy next to me said he tried the beach area access and it was toast. With another warm night and some rain in the forecast for tomorrow, the next few days could be problematic. Stay safe!!!!!
