Colors can vary from day to day but on stained lakes I do well with glow reds, and pink. Clearer lakes white can be good as can chartruse. There is such a spread and everyone has a favorite.

Gold on cloudy day and silver and clearer days. White/ shad is always good. Glow at the light changing times.

X2 color is very specific to the water clarity and how much sun is getting through the ice. Glow is always good in stained water, reds, pinks and hot perch. Clear- white, gold, chartreuse, flashy minnow colors.

As others have said it all has to do with water clarity.. I fish with jigging raps and I find no matter what the clarity a clown color will always catch them.. Now I mostly fish Green Bay so the water is crystal clear.. You can see your jigging rap 40 feet down.. When I fish the bay I like any color that has a chrome to it.. For example the clown, or the chrome blue or chrome red.
I also fish a river that feeds the bay and with its stained water, fire tiger is hands down the best along with the pink tiger uv.. But the clown works there too
